RICOH’s Aluminium Binder Jetting Technology (BJT)
In 2021, RICOH announced a new and exciting metal binder jetting (BJT) technology, intended to realise the ambition of end-use metal parts production using 3D printing.
RICOH’s proprietary metal binder jetting solution, housed in Ricoh 3D‘s brand new Metal Additive Manufacturing Customer Experience Centre (Metal AM CEC) harnesses the company’s leading inkjet printhead expertise to produce aluminium parts in complex shapes at speed and in a stable manner.
How does BJT work?
Why work with Ricoh 3D?
RICOH’s leading BJT technology – combined with our 3D printing systems – ensures your projects are safe, smart and sustainable.
The RICOH solution makes it possible to use aluminium powder with the high-volume cost efficiency of the binder jetting process, thanks to the following unique properties:
- Contributes to the weight reduction and improved heat dissipation of metal parts by realising shapes and geometries that cannot be produced with existing technologies.
- The binder jet method saves time and resources due to its high productivity and the ability to reuse unused materials. This supports Ricoh UK Products Ltd.’s ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ initiative and RICOH’s global sustainability targets.
- RICOH’s industrial inkjet printhead technology, developed over 40 years, enables stable manufacturing of parts with complex shapes.
Manufacturing a sustainable future
RICOH is Manufacturing a Sustainable Future…and you can too.
Across industries, RICOH is actively supporting and contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Towards the realisation of a zero-carbon society, businesses can contribute to the electrification of automotive, aircraft and other mobility industries alike – and multiple other industries too – by innovating heat exchange parts and making parts lighter and smaller.
Utilising RICOH’s BJT technology, in our dedicated and controlled production environment, we can create complex, sophisticated and game-changing parts, which provide customers and partners higher productivity and lower manufacturing costs than conventional methods.
RICOH is opening the doors to its dedicated Metal Additive Manufacturing Customer Experience Centre (Metal AM CEC). Customers and partners, this is your opportunity to co-create the future…the vision – to work together to generate new value, that transcends existing constraints.
Aluminium BJT ‘Total Solution’
Combining manufacturing heritage, technical expertise, innovation and collaboration with its valued partners, RICOH is enabling full end-to-end solutions in aluminium binder jetting.
Specifically, harnessing new and existing partnerships, including Siemens, RICOH is orchestrating a ‘total solution’ system – From unleashing design freedom to enhancing weight reduction; From mastering thermal management to evolving performance; From accelerating innovation to empowering change.
This total solution system consists of three key elements, design, material and process, and everything in-between to satisfy the customers’ pain points. And RICOH’s extensive global support network means that you will always have the support you require, when and where you need it.
This ‘total solution’ aims to enable fulfilment through work, supporting customers’ journeys towards aluminium binder jetting mass production.
Will you support the realisation of a zero-carbon society?
Together, we can manufacture a sustainable future…
