Leading 3D Printing Services

LATEST NEWS

Ricoh 3D is proud to announce that its Head of Additive Manufacturing, Mark Dickin, has joined the Additive Manufacturing UK ‘Connect Steering Committee’.

Part of the Manufacturing Technologies Association (MTA) group, Additive Manufacturing UK (AMUK) is the UK’s trade association for organisations who work within the additive and 3D printing eco-system.

In short, by their own admission: “We exist to establish the UK as a world leader in the development and adoption of Additive and 3D Printing technology.”

The role of the Connect Steering Committee

The role of its Connect Steering Committee is to help achieve this vision through:

  • Acting as ambassadors for the AMUK network
  • Determining and refining member services within the AMUK network
  • Scoping and agreeing the business model to ensure that AMUK is sustainable
  • Ensuring the membership of the group is reflective of the AMUK community
  • Defining the forward strategy, to ensure that AMUK meets the needs of the community
  • Helping AMUK link into other appropriate networks to strengthen the group and sector
  • Contributing to AMUK thought leadership and media opportunities
  • Championing Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) in all activities and decisions
  • Engaging government to raise awareness of AM
  • Seeking opportunities to secure funding for AMUK member companies

The Committee is made up of MTA representatives, large and/or prominent additive manufacturing businesses, subject matter experts (SMEs) and industry professionals, research institutions and academics – and is also open to individuals and companies who bring unique perspectives and ‘new value’ to the group.

AMUK also works in collaboration with specific partners to help push forward its mission to make the UK a world class hub for the development, adoption, and use of Additive and 3D printing technology.

Joining the Committee

And the latest individual to join the Committee is Ricoh 3D’s own AM supremo, Mark Dickin, who has been at Ricoh UK Products Ltd (RPL) since 1999, when he started as a Technical Apprentice.

Mark, who has been instrumental in spearheading RPL’s Additive Manufacturing Department, Ricoh 3D, into an industry-leading service provider, commented: “Firstly, I would like to thank RPL; RICOH has given me the opportunity to develop personally over a number of years, through a programme of education evolving skills at every level of my engineering career.

“This investment in my personal development has enabled me to progress through the ranks to lead a team in an advanced manufacturing environment.

“Utilising these skills, in conjunction with RICOH’s manufacturing and innovation heritage, the expertise of the wider Ricoh 3D team, knowledge-sharing and co-creating with our valued customers and partners, we are transforming businesses through their 3D journeys.”

“I am honoured to be joining the AMUK Connect Steering Committee, and thoroughly look forward to working with fellow members to help shape the UK’s AM strategy – and create an ever-thriving sector, which seeks to realise a sustainable future.”
