Ricoh 3D is pleased to announce that it has been accepted as a member of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
The SMMT exists to support and promote the interests of the UK automotive industry at home and abroad. Working closely with member companies, the organisation acts as the voice of the motor industry, promoting its position to government, stakeholders and the media.
Ricoh 3D has joined the organisation to help focus its development of 3D printed parts for vehicles, especially in the rapidly growing Electric Vehicle (EV) industry.
As a member of the SMMT, Ricoh 3D now has access to a wide range of benefits and support, including an automotive directory, networking events, sponsorship opportunities and funding and support, among others.
Mark Dickin, Manager of Ricoh 3D, said he was pleased to join the organisation and the opportunities the partnership would present.
He said: “Ricoh has joined the SMMT to grow and strengthen relationships within the automotive sector.
“Ricoh 3D recognises that the SMMT is the largest and most influential trade associate in the UK and can support us in the growth of the print service.
“The evolution and production of electric vehicles will be key for the development of Ricoh’s metal binder jetting technology, and we believe the SMMT can help us by engaging with their innovation forums.”
The news follows the recent announcement of Ricoh’s partnership with Siemens to help accelerate the realisation of aluminium binder jetting mass production, which will further help in the development of parts for the automotive industry.
